Conservation Status
The Siberian tiger was listed as an endangered species in 1970. Right now there are known to be around 450 individuals left.
Because of its past this species has had natural strengths, for example, their coats for camouflage but this brought the species a large amount of problems. One of these problems was that its coat was highly decorative so they were hunted and killed. Also one main reason that the tigers are endangered is because their organs were used in traditional Chinese medicines. To keep the already diminishing amount of tigers from becoming extinct, large companies are trying to conserve them by giving money to the right agencies so that this mighty species can continue surviving.

Threats to the species
Why is the species in danger?
The Siberian tiger is threatened by bushfires, other animals, large storms, extremely cold weather and humans. However its largest threat is the production of roads and machines. This problem is created by humans and our need to travel and work. This mainly affects them because they are not used to the roads and people so when they are seen the tigers are curious and confused, so they can walk out onto roads and be hit by cars or be shot by poachers. These animals are poached for their coats and organs for traditional Chinese medicines. Also the forest and mountain ranges nearby have been destroyed which would mean that both the tigers and their source of food would lose their natural habitat.

Impacts that the loss of the siberian tigers will have on its eco-system
The number of boar, elk and deer would greatly increase and cause them to become pests. This will mean a decrease in the amount of grass and vegetation in the areas where these animals live due to their increased numbers. In the longer term their habitat would become desolate which will eventually kill off the animals that live in the area. A second impact would be that the people living near it would lose a great animal that has lived near their town for centuries.
